The vSeeBox remote can learn buttons from your TV remote. Once it has, you can turn your TV on and off and change the volume without picking up a second remote. This is especially handy for kids and seniors.
Before you begin
- Turn on your TV and vSeeBox.
- Use the original vSeeBox remote and your TV’s own remote.
- Your TV remote must be an infrared (IR) remote, the kind you point at the TV. Bluetooth-only remotes won’t work.
- Keep both remotes close together, within about 3 feet.
Step 1: Put the vSeeBox remote in learning mode
Hold the TV Power button on the vSeeBox remote for 3–5 seconds, until its light starts flashing.
Step 2: Teach it the power button
- Point your TV remote at the front of the vSeeBox remote, nearly touching.
- Press Power on your TV remote.
- When the vSeeBox remote’s light stops flashing, the button has been learned.
Step 3: Teach it volume and mute
Repeat Steps 1–2 for Volume +, Volume −, and, if you want, Mute.
Step 4: Test it
Use the vSeeBox remote to turn the TV off and on and to change the volume. If the TV responds, you’re done.
If it doesn’t work
- Double-check that your TV remote is infrared.
- Hold the two remotes closer together and press the buttons slowly.
- Put fresh batteries in both remotes.
- Teach each button again, one at a time.
Start over
To erase everything the remote has learned, hold TV Power for 8–10 seconds until the light blinks rapidly. Then start again from Step 1.
